Reliable meat grinders for hobby farm lard/sausage production?
I am working on a small hobby farm producing pork/chicken. We typically slaughter 2-3 hogs a year and need a meat grinder capable of grinding meat and fat for making sausage and lard. We will also need to use it for grinding venison and poultry meat. This grinder will see a fair bit of use at certain times of year and need to run for 2-4 hours at a time. We need something long-lasting and durable that will be worth the investment. Hunters, farmers do you have any tested models to suggest? Is 3/4 HP sufficient or is 1 HP better? There seems to be a big price difference between some models.
