Even though the main character is a female, she does have a love interest in the Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. They're fascinating and have a prequel series coming out as well if you get into them. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is good, of course, as well. The best way to find new books would be to look through the "new" section at your local library or book store. They sort books by category and the summaries on the back could gain your interest. At a library pick a few books and only keep reading the ones you get into. (:
