I forgot the author, but i remember the story. It's about a kid (i think his name is Darren?) who's family is under some kind of curse from a demon. The curse or disease was that one of their family members would turn into a werewolf at a certain age, and the only way to stop it was by beating this demon in a chess match. I think the demon's name was Murdoff.. something like that. does anyone know this book?
